Ronald Konkama
There is a man everyone is talking about this year. He isn’t well groomed, Doesn’t say nice things, is never on time and in general he really does not care about anything. Maybe you’ve caught him on Facebook? Does the name Ronald Konkama ring a bell?
A couple weeks ago, I had gotten paged to go to the office in my department. When I arrived some minutes later, 2 ladies in the office were in good spirits laughing. One asked me if ‘she could take Ron’s flu shot that afternoon?”. I made two mistakes. The first of which, Ron had already been to the vet - so he had all his shots. The second, I put his name on the list under mine in jest. The real joke was on me. When I went back in later to delete his name, the list was gone.
My lead thanked me for “a good laugh.” I went up to get my shot, and a lady from human resources giggled and asked me “Where is Ron?”. I later found out that another lead had to call and explain who Ron Konkama was. I waited all day for someone to come down and chew me out, all week, and no harm done. Everyone is laughing.
The birth of Ron Konkama was 2000. I jokingly told a friend that there was a guy in shipping who liked her. She didn’t really believe me. I had another friend page him, and she ran around the corner to see what a figment of my imagination looked like. He went dormant until last year, when I had to blame him for something I misplaced.

I think everybody needs to give Ron a break. He's a miss-understood soul. Personal hygiene and timeliness are both way over rated. Ever since Ron "friended me" on Facebook my life has changed. Ron speaks his mind and so what if he's a little more than rough around the edges. I think his rogue sense of fashion along with his brash sense of humor are what first attracted me to him. For a long time I've been secretly hoping that Ron would become a follower on my blog. So here's a shout out to Mr. Konkama; "Ron, where ever you are, please sign up on my blog." I could use your editorial perspective.
