Dog In The Window

How could you not think it was anything but strange, to be strolling down main street and notice this old dog in a store front window?  It seemed so peculiar that I abruptly stopped, in order to try and understand just why this dog seemed so out of place. The front of the old building had no signage, not even a clue about what this former business had been.  In the sun faded store window laid this very content looking dog,
checking out the few passers by. He sat there in the sun, on display, but clearly not for sale. Peering through the faded old curtains behind him, I squinted to gather more clues, as to make sense of this unusual sight. But the reflection from the window, and the darkness behind it prevented me from seeing just exactly was going on behind the curtains.

Follow Us To Mona's Chateau

Even though our advertising budget was low, we still managed to attract a huge audience of inquisitive passers by.  Several guests at the beach party inquired as to the where abouts of Mona's Chateau and the fine accommodations it provides.  Several brochures were passed out, which stimulated quite a buzz throughout the crowd.  All in all it was a slow evening........until all registered guests returned to the Chateau for a very memorable evening.

Thoughts of the Minnesota State Fair

It won't be long now........In only a few short weeks there will be long lines of hungry fairgoers, smelling the warm and crispy chocolate chip cookies lofting from this fantastic site. Gazing at this photo, taken in mid January, I realize that I have never studied this building long enough to notice that the front of the building is a huge cookie, complete with chocolate morsels.

Dog perfect

Don't you just love to watch dogs sleep? Especially this beautiful dog. Do you wonder, as I do, what he could be dreaming about? I watch him move his legs, snort and wiggle around. I bet he's retrieving his toy, or chasing something.
All he cares about is eating, playing and sleeping. Oh, to be a dog.....eat, play, sleep, eat, play, sleep.....

Mona's Chateau needs a Tiki Bar

Construction of a Tiki Bar needs to take place, in order to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of CND at Mona's Chateau.
The cocktails would taste better and the yard games would be more fun, if we only had a tiki hut. We could hang lights from under the fringey areas and slide our lawn chairs up close, so Mona doesn't have so far to walk, when it's time for her to fill up our tall glasses of PYP Punch.
Sondi could be a big help with this project. Maybe she could draw us up some blue prints.

Raspberry Island in the afternoon

It's fun to sit your lawn chair in the sand on the Mississippi river, smack dab in the middle of a bustling city, such as St. Paul.

As I sink into my chair, watching the occasional small boat scurry by, I feel invisible. Blending into the scenery from the bridges and tall buildings high above me, I start squinting to see if anybody is checking out the river from their apartment balcony above me. The only sign of life is a bird, circling the tops of the tallest buildings. It's floating around, making the most of the slight breeze.

I feel the sunshine, warming my shoulders and wonder just how cool the water would feel on my toes.
